Numerical Modeling of Kinetic Features and Stability Analysis of Jinpingzi Landslide

The kinetic features of a slow-moving landslide situated above the Wudongde hydropower station were analyzed using particle flow code 3D (PFC3D) software. This research was based on geological investigations, remote sensing interpretation, and digital elevation models to build structure Jinpingzi landslide. Finite element analysis (FEM) used determine sliding surface. Strength reduction theory (SRT) coupling invert macro-strength parameters into micro-strength parameters. Finally, slope failure process simulated. Meanwhile, displacement vector angle (DVA) velocity for stability analysis. simulation results landslides show that initial stage begins with accelerated movement, followed by constant-velocity movement instability failure. larger coefficient is, shorter duration each is. A two-parameter criterion is proposed velocity, DVA, coefficient. Using this criterion, critical 200 mm/s, DVA 28.15°. agree actual field monitoring motion process. work confirms PFC3D modeling method suitable simulating landslides.
